Network - Protocol, EGP (Exterior Gateway

Protocol) In the Internet TCP/IP protocol suite, a class of protocols used for communications between autonomous systems. The two most widely supported EGPs are the exterior gateway protocol (also known as EGP) and the border gateway protocol (BGP). EGP is also a specific exterior gateway protocol (defined in RFC 904), which has since been replaced by the BGP.
