Network - Protocol, BSC (Bisynchronous

Communication) A character-oriented, synchronous protocol for controlling communications at the datalink layer. BSC was developed by IBM in the early 1960s to make communication with its mainframes easier. The BSC protocol supports ASCII and EBCDIC character codes, as well as a special 6-bit transcode (SBT) used only in BSC.
